Availability
February/March: We have recently had two long stay bookings cancelled which means we have a few vacancies - 21st February until 10th March 2004, 15th to 22nd March 2004 and 25th to 28th March 2004. A few of these days have been taken up already, however, we are sure some of you would like to spend some time here during the summer months. Please get in touch if you think you may be interested.
Corporate Entertaining
A large law firm has booked the Gisborne Boys High School outdoor pursuits centre down the road for a conference and will be coming up to the homestead for evening meals. We have organised Mark Linekar (one of NZ's top Chefs) and Ian Hornblow (from the Roxburgh in Wellington) to come up for the weekend to prepare meals of hare, crayfish and paua - all fresh from the farm.
On the Saturday afternoon we will be taking them by 4 wheel drive to the river, for lunch and a swim in the pools. After that we'll go down to the 'Rock' (hope none of them are faint hearted!) where we'll hopefully get them all leaping off the ledges - up to 10m high. We then return to a seafood BBQ, petanque competition and lounging around the fire. It should be a fantastic 3 days!
If anyone else would like to do something similar, please let us know.
The Farm and The Weather
No problem with the drought down here - whenever we've needed rain it has come so there is grass everywhere wafting in the breeze... can't complain about that!
Winter Holidays
If you've never been to The Quarters in winter you really should consider a break here. The fire is very warm and cozy, there are lots of good coastal walks and there is always that fantastic view to occupy you. Of course there are still the hot pools, fishing, long walks on the beach and novels to be read. We guarantee you will head away totally relaxed, wishing you didn't have to go.
Sounds good doesn't it? Why not contact us if you want to experience The Quarters over the coming months?
We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
June and Malcolm Rough |
