The Quarters is now offering walk up wild pheasant shooting at Te Au in Hawkes Bay. This is some of the best wild pheasant shooting available in New Zealand. Birds are not released, they are hatched and grown in the wild.
Our emphasis is on small groups of hunters and a genuine pheasant hunting experience with pointers or spaniels flushing birds from a variety of cover.
We work closely with landowners to develop the pheasant and wildlife habitat on their farms. Your guide will take you to selected locations to maximise your shooting success.

Size of Groups
Our pheasant shooting specifically caters for small groups of 2 - 4 guns. This is to make sure the day is always a quality experience.
The Season
This runs from May until the end of August. A game shooting license is required. We can arrange this for you.
Habitat
Our ring necked pheasant shooting does not just happen, we make it happen by taking you to a variety of landscapes with varying shelters and cover. Extensive pest control work is undertaken to encourage the breeding and survival of the wild pheasant population.
Dogs
All hunts are fully guided with excellent bird dogs. A hunting guide and dog handler will be with the pheasant hunters at all times. Hunters may arrange to bring their own hunting dogs and use them in conjunction with, or instead of, our dogs by proper arrangement.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided between hunting locations.

Other Shooting Available
Mallard duck, paradise duck, turkey and hare shooting are all available. Arrangements can also be made for clients to go wild pig or deer hunting. Please enquire.
Fitness
Our package will cater individually for all levels of fitness. We want you to leave having enjoyed the experience with plans to return regularly.
Good numbers of wild birds, private and unique landscapes and exceptional hunting guides all contribute to a premium pheasant hunting experience here at Te Au.
